Bronaċ Ferran is a writer and curator living in London who has had a long-term professional involvement in areas of intersection between art, media and ecological domains. When Director of Interdisciplinary Arts at Arts Council England (2000-2007) she led the Council’s Art and Ecology initiative in collaboration with the Royal Society of Arts in London which created collaborations between Chinese and UK based artists and academics around the impact of industrial development on rural areas in China, viewed from a cultural and environmental perspective. When working as Senior Tutor, Innovation Design Engineering at the Royal College of Art Bronaċ co-organised a major international workshop in Sao Paulo in 2009 exploring the intersection between Art, Technology and Environment in three countries and she co-edited the related publication. She is an advisor to The Human Project, an initiative for human development in north east Brazil. She is now working on a book with Hansjörg Mayer, who owns a permaculture farm in Southern Spain.
